Under the Stars

I love summer! This is not a secret to those I know and that are close to me! I love summer! When I saw the Simple Stories: Simple Set - Under the Stars, I knew I had to get my hands on it! At first I thought, when would I use this?!? But then I realized we would be spending quite a few weekends out at the lake this year! So it only made sense that this collection was in my stash.

What I LOVE about Simple Sets by Simple Stories?!? It is enough supplies to create a perfect amount of projects without getting bored of the paper line or it your projects looking too similar. The Simple Sets come with (4) double sided pattern paper, (2) 12x12 Journal Card - cut aparts, and (2) 6x12 Sticker sheets.

Now here are two layouts I created with this set. I actually created three,  you can see the third one on the Clique Kits blog - Frozen In Time.

These kits are just so perfect to me! I have a few scraps left that I can whip out another layout or even some cards. And plenty of stickers left over! I highly recommend these Simple Kits!

thanks for joining me today! I hope you have a scrap filled rest of your week!

CLique Kits - July Projects

Hello,
Thanks for joining me again today. I want to share more projects using Clique Kits July Kit - A Midsummer Nights Dream. You can buy this a la carte in the Clique Kits shop right now! Sign-up for the Kit Club (no minimum month commitment) for  $29.99 (plus shipping). Subscriptions open to international residence!

Okay now for a few projects I created with the July kit!

First layout is of breakfast I was preparing at the lake the other weekend. I love the color of the fruit in the bowls against the island butcher blog and cutting board! I used mainly neutral tones on the layout itself and popped it with yellow!

This layout I used scraps from the kit! Many of the 2x2 insta looking cards (which were on a 12x12 sheet). I layered them with pattern paper and loaded them with photos, stickers, ephemera, die cuts and other little bits & pieces. This project highlights our weekend at the lake the other weekend.

I also made a card with this kit. I used a embossing folder to add some texture to white cardstock and highlighted a die-cut from the July Kit (available in the Clique Kits digi shop).
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you found a little inspiration! Join me tomorrow for a few layouts I created using the Simple Stories - Under the Stars Simple Kit.

Have a scrap happy day!

Clique Kits Blog Share - July 2014

Welcome to my blog! I'm so excited to share a few projects with you today using the July Clique Kits - A Midsummer Nights Dream!! I love the summer feel of this kit and open ended uses for this kit! Today I'm going to share a few projects with you! Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a few more projects using this kit! I got a total of 5 layouts and 2 cards made out of this kit and still have a few leftovers!

Of course Clique Kits LOVES to challenge our clique members so this months challenge is:
The challenge: "Captured on Film"Ideas: using filmstrips, viewfinders, or polaroids on your layout, and/or featuring photos from a play, seeing a play / production or a movie (think sitting in your seats or photo outside with the marquee.  **Remember no photography during a production unless noted it is okay.**
The view finder was my  Film aspect of this layout. I added some die cuts from June, July and Pinkfresh to my layout. And of course highlighted my photo of my husband and puppy sleeping one morning. These two are beyond sweet in the morning. I see how they sleep as I'm usually the first one awake. Spock adores Matt and Matt adores Spock!

I also want to share a card I created with this kit! The Crate Paper Open Road ephemera became a focus on this card. I layered three different ones on this page and added the Echo Park stickers to enhance these lovely cards!!

Clique Into Summer

This summer, Clique Kits is having summer school! Yes, 12 weeks of lessons, inspiration, challenges and fun! We are using the NEW Simple Stories: Good Day Sunshine (kit sold out, but you can still register for the class and get the digital downloads! You can also purchase the Summer Class Flair!)

I just wanted to share some of my first few spreads using the kit and the Simple Stories Chevron Album (still available in Black in the Clique Kits store).

I love this piece of paper to open the album and I wanted to show it off, so I kept my opening page very minimalist style.

To start off my album, I added some pictures of the end of May. Starting to get serious about getting into shape again, and of course sweet photos of my puppy.

The next spread is pictures taken for our FIRST lake trip of the season. Opening up the lake for the summer! And the first time Spock went to the lake! The 2nd page of the spread is driving around town, bringing Spock with me and also drinking coffee in the back yard. My days can be quite random.
I'm just starting work on this spread. The white spots are for pictures. During the winter I'm a huge Vanilla Latte fan. I drink them too often. Summer rolls around and I love iced coffee and iced tea. My kuerig makes both of these wonderfully! love those pods!
So see a few more pages of this album, be sure to stop by the Clique Kits blog this week! There will be a lot of inspiration shared with a few pages from various artists albums!

Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Layout

I've been working on a special project / album for a friend of mine who had a baby recently. She asked if I could create an album for her 2nd born. Here is the first layout in the album. I will share the rest of the album after she has received it. I want it to be a surprise before I share online. I'd rather have her see it in person first.

But I just had to share this layout.

Products used: Simple Stories - Hello Baby (collection kit, Chipboard Stickers, Bits & Pieces, Simple Basics Kit); Webster Pages - Hello World (paper clips)

Thanks for checking out my project today! I can't wait to share more.

Clique Kit Blog Share - May

Today, I want to share a layout I created with the May Clique Kits,  kit - Field Trip! I adore this kit and the endless possibilities of themes you can create with it. The layout below features a photo from my wedding taken by our very talented photographer Bernadette Pollard.

I love that the kit included a full pack of journal cards. They are so awesome to use as titles and even journaling, when not used in pocket protector layouts. The patterns in this kit are fabulous as well and I loved mixing and matching them together!
Here is a close up of a journal card I used as a title and the custom flair that was included in this kit!

Clique Kits - April Debutante Blog Share

Welcome to my blog! I'm so excited to be part of the Clique Kits blog share today, sharing projects using the April Kit - Debutante! I'm also SUPER excited to have some kit club members joining us!!

I have a few projects to share with you today. I used this kit down to the very last bit! I had a small section of paper left over, some thicker words and the washi tape. I created (4) 12x12 layouts, (3) cards, and (10) journal cards.

The first layout I'm sharing today was created using a picture of my niece. My husband and I don't get to see our niece often as she lives in NYC, but we love receiving videos and photos from her parents! A little fact about me and my hubby...our family lives all over the United States, from New York to Florida to Minneapolis. We cherish our moments with them.

I love how these papers are universal to boy or girl. I shared a project this month on the Clique Kits blog, showing how to use it more for a boy layout.

I also created a few cards. I love created cards when I'm down to scraps! It is the perfect way to not let these lovely papers go to waste!

I adore this first card! I created the card with water color paper. I then used Tim Holtz Distress stain and sprayed it with water (to create the drip). I then splattered some black Mister Huey's spray on top. Adhered a thicker word from the kit, added some washi, a die cut heart and this simple card was born!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I appreciate it and hope you were inspired to create something for yourself today!

For this blog share I worked with the Simple Stories: Sn@p Set - Dog! My puppy Spock is my child. He is our world, And I'm THAT puppy mommy that takes a million pictures of him (a lot of the time, sleeping). Yes, I'm that puppy Mom! I just can't get enough of his adorable face and his sweet personality! So when I saw this Simple Stories Dog line, I HAD to have it! I knew it would make a great album for my puppy!

I created a layout, using the Simple Stories: Daily Grind - Simples Basics Kit.The colors go very well with the Dog Sn@p Cards!

I paired this line with Simple Stories: Daily Grind for Spock's album as well. One thing I really love about Simple Stories products is that a lot of the lines you can easily mix and match with current or past lines! It really gives you endless possibilities. So I love how universal they are!

Here are a few pages from Spock's Mini Album that I'm creating.

I also decided to create a layout, using the Simple Stories: Daily Grind - Simples Basics Kit.The colors go very well with the Dog Sn@p Cards!

Clique Kits Blog Share: Hazel & Ruby

You should have arrived here from Erica's blog!

Today we are so excited to be working with some awesome Hazel and Ruby products! I received some products for their Chalk it Up line as well as their Gone Typo line. Though the projects I will be sharing today were all completed with Chalk it Up! The creative bug hit and I created two layouts and three cards using these products!

The first layout is of my husband and I, pre-marriage. This picture was taken on our trip to the Twin Cities for our wedding week. I have a whole series of photos for each day (starting at 100) leading up to the wedding. I love how bright and cheerful these papers are. For the background I used Tim Holtz Distress stains, a Heidi Swapp stencil and embossing paste.

This second layout is a of a vacation that my husband and I took in January 2014. We got to spend 4 nights and 5 days at Secrets NOW resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! It was wonderful and a fantastic break from the cold and snow. I love the colorful frames paper. I decided to trim it almost in half and use the frames to highlight my photos as well as some journaling and title.

I also created some cards with these papers! I was really into the water color look when i was creating these first two cards. For the background I used water color paints to create a custom background.

The final card I created is a mini card (3" x 4"). I used Bubbles and Babbles Stickers to create this card. I popped a few up for dimension and stamped the word hello to the lower corner!

Thanks for stopping by today!! This was your LAST stop on the share! If you started here please head over to the Clique Kits blog for info and other blogs on the route.

OH, but WAIT we have a prize!! The prize for today's Blog Share is a $10 Gift Certificate to the Clique Kits Store!
