Jesus Christ Superstar

So last night we saw Jesus Christ Superstar at the Fargo Dome. I have only seen the movie before so this was an experience. AND talking about the movie - Ted Neely was Jesus in the production I saw last night! Awesome huh. I mean he is 63 years old and Jesus was only 33 when he died (or something like that). But MAN can he still sing those notes! It was great!

I usually don't go to shows at the Fargo Dome (not a great venue) - but our friend Chris was in the production. It's a touring production. It was so great to see him perform!!

Afterward we all went to the HoDo... including the cast. So I got to meet the Ted Neely and the rest of the cast. It was so much fun. They are a really nice group of people. I'll post pictures once I have internet at my place again.

So that was my excitment last night.

Our furniture was moved yesterday as well. It made it safely to our new apt. It's so exciting to get moved in. Our washer & dryer arrives tomorrow - thank god! i'm super excited about that!

Overwhelmed

Moving is super overwhelming. The hardest part of it all - I can't be in control. I sit here at work while Matt moves everything. I'm so obsessed with my personal items - that it freaks me out when someone else moves them... (well i don't think obsessed is a good word - but that is all i can think of). I'm just particular.

Okay - the 2nd hardest part about sitting at work and not helping move - is just that - i'm sitting at work and not helping. I'm sitting here drinking my cherry coke (i'm stressed) and typing on my blog - while my furniture is being moved (gently I hope and hoping it fits through door frames).

And than tonight - we won't be moving anything - because we are going to a tour production of Jesus Christ Superstar (our friend is in it). But on the plus side - i got some HOT red shoes to go with a black & white dress. I'll be sure to take pictures.

Okay - i'm going to do some work - hopefully the next 2 hours moves along quickly.

The Move

So we pretty much move into the new apartment tomorrow night. Our furniture will be moved tomorrow afternoon. I am super excited. We painted the living / dining room yesterday and have to put another coat on it this evening (before our big furniture is moved in). Than tomorrow Matt will paint the one accent wall in the dining room to finish that area off. It is going to look soooo awesome once we get the furniture in! I am going to make accent pillows for the couch - i'm super excited! It's going to be an awesome apt!!

Here are a few pictures of the place (they are kind of dark) and it's before we painted the walls - so there is blue tape in the living / dining area.

The living room / Dining room is painted "pale Butter" - it reminds me of Arizona - not sure why. And the accent wall will be Suede Brown (it's the wall the is on the back end of the dining area.) The accents in the living room will be orange and red (pillows - and other decorated elements). The dining area will be more olive greens & browns) - plates and we will have flowers on our table a lot.

We will eventually paint the bedroom - a light mocha color - with DARK mocha and green accents (bedding, pillows, etc)

The bathroom we decided will be a slate blue color. We want it relaxing. But the painting for this room will wait awhile.

I am really excited to move in & I am super excited that we can decorate! This makes me super happy.

Once i get photos of the finsihed painting job and the furnture in - i'll post! We move in tomorrow! Kind of

Here is my Swimwear Wish List! Since I'm going on a Cruise in August (thank you to my awesome boyfriend - for the BEST birthday gift a girl could ask for!) I need to start swimsuit shopping! Here are a few I like. Let me know what you think! I know that halter swim tops fit me the best.

I really kind of want to go for a black and white swim suit for one of my choices. And a colorful suit for the other... So what do you think about this for the black & white?? I hope I can find this somewhere!?!

This Suit is by ROXY

I love the bottoms - not crazy about the top...but i'm sure there are other options. I love Roxy swimwear!!! Oh and I love green and I"m seeing a trend of loving polk a dots. Or do I do a mix and match thing - or solid??

Or go brown (i can't go wrong with this color)

So where to go with this. I think 2 swim suits would be good...maybe 3. But I think 2 have to be reasonably priced and the 3rd i could splurge a little :D

So what do you think?

Moving

In about a WEEK we move into our new apartment. It seems so crazy how FAST this month went. I feel like there should be an extra week and June 1 isn't next friday! I can't believe how quickly this year is going by.

I am really excited to move into our new place. This will be the 3rd apt matt & I have lived in together. That's just nuts!! But I think it is going to be great!! Here is the upsides of our new apartment:
  • Washer / Dryer Hook Up
  • Dishwasher (i may actually do the dishes)
  • Patio (HUGE outdoor patio area!! It rocks)
  • underground, heated parking (even though we aren't going to have a spot till August - so we can save money - this will be awesome in the winter)
  • We can Paint!! We can put holes in the wall - and the apt complex doesn't care!! That rocks!
  • BIGGER bathroom - giving me a vanity spot! Thank god - my make up will be saved and not all over the floor b/c i dropped it!
  • Close to the Park (pretty much walk out of our apt building and the park is right there.

The thing I'll miss:

  • The space - we are downsizing when it comes to the space of our apt as a whole. But I'm okay with that since we are getting all the awesome things listed above!

Still have to wait on:

  • Getting a Pug. I want a puppy so bad and yet again - i can't have a pet. I should go see a doctor and say i'm depressed and a dog would help. ;)

So this is very excting for us! And to see how excited Matt is about it - makes all the difference in the world - it's awesome. He's so super excited!!! I'll be sure to post pictures when we move in - and when we paint! We are painting monday. Eeks - i need to get my paint chip samples in so we can paint on Monday!!

Back in the Game!!

So I bought a Canon PowerShot SD750 yesterday. I was getting so tired of missing photo ops when i was out with my friends! Now I don't have to!!!! I am super estactic! My friend Molly leaves to go do summer stock tomorrow! Sooo last night Becky, Molly, Matt & Myself went out. However, Matt went home early - so the night ended up being girls night!! It was super awesome!! So much fun. Here are a few pictures from our evening adventures!

The Fargo Marathon

So the Fargo Marathon is today. (I should be out promoting a radio station in town - however I stayed up LATE celebrating a friends Birthday! Too tired to get up at 7am on a Saturday). Anyway - back to the Marathon. So the Fargo Marathon is today and I have a few people I know running (5k & 1/2 marathon). Props to them - b/c I don't run.

However, I was thinking as I lay in bed this morning and looking out side. Why couldn't I run next year? Of course I'd be a wimp and start with the 5k - but hey at least i'm starting some where. Or maybe my training (that I promise I will start this month or in June) will lead me to running the 1/2 marathon.

Is this something I want to do? Is this a goal I want to accomplish? I remember as a kid when my dad decided to run a marathon (the whole thing). I love helping him train. I was in elementary school and I would bike along side him - i remember we ate a lot of pasta (which was great - b/c I LOVE pasta). I remember being very proud of my dad. He trained so hard for so long. It's a huge disciplin I think.

So if ANYONE reads my blog - I'd love your input. And if you live in Fargo - do you want to do this with me? Will I actually have the discipline to do something like this - or just flake off as I sometimes do?

I'll have to think this one over. It could just be the Hype of the marathon today.

I should also note - it rains EVERY year on Marathon day (this is a fact). At least for the past few years...today is no exception - it's raining!

The CAMERA!

So I wanted to document in my blog what camera I want! :D and a few accessories (with the help of Michelle!) She's been answering my questions on thing I may want / need when I buy this camera (goal - end of August!) So here is the camera: (all photos are from Amazon.com) - except I think i want it with the Silver Body (but that seems to cost a few $$'s more)

The Lens she suggested (i know nothing about lenses yet)

And a book she sugggested:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
So I'm going to probably buy the book in the next month or so - that way i can get started on learning my new camera - BEFORE i even have it! Wonderful idea huh?

And this blog was really not meant for anyone - just so I remember what Michelle Suggested to me and I wouldn't have to keep asking her.

Also - if you have any suggestions - please feel free to comment.

Needs for my camera:
Well I have MANY different reasons on why I want a DSLR. But here are some things I would like to use it for.
1. To have a photo session with the FM ballet Company Dancers (I want to do these outside by the river OR downtown by the cool buildings - more industrial)
2. Taking photos of the Ballets (so sports lenses i'm assuming). The light is low - and I hate to use flash when they are testing lights and i hate to use flash. Also after the show for cast photos on stage...those theatres are so dark when it comes to house lighting...
3. Just to take beautiful photos! Of my boyfriend, friends, family, every day life.
4. Eventually I would love to just do free lance photography for people (senior pictures, family shots, etc) - but that is a few years down the line.

So I guess I'll be doing a lot of action, some low lighting (in door shots), and every day photos.

Well now that i rambled about things that most people don't care about :D I'll end here!!

I wish i had a Million $$$$

Yes I wish i was rich! Do you ever have urges where you just want to buy?? Maybe I have a disorder (shopping disorder) - But what girl doesn't??? There are just so many things I want right now. Don't necessarily NEED - but want.

I want (in no particular order): Canon Rebel XT DSLR camera (+ a lens), Puma Shoes, swim suit (this will be on the need list sooner than later - cruise is in August!), Fancy Pants Bella 12 x 12 sheet of acrylic stamps, and much more in the scrapbooking part of my life.

Okay - new tactic. How to make money quickly!?! Okay - I'll have to figure out money making scemes... legal of course. Hum...i'll have to think of this one and actually act upon it this time!

There is a NEEDS list - but it is shorter. I need a knee brace (or wrap of some sort for when i'm taking cardio karate) That's all i NEED.

15 May 2007

I was just thinking how I used to love to come up with crazy email titles when sending people emails. Random things. Like: The sun is purple today. But now i title my emails - Hey or Hi. BORING. I should go back to the wacky email days.

I've been working on many different type of projects lately. I am designing Gasper's School of Dance Recital program (in adobe). I haven't worked with Adobe too much since we got it...but playing around with it - I'm really starting to enjoy it more and more! It's so much fun and there are so many possibilities. I also have designed my business card using adobe! Love it!

I'm also in complete scrapbook mode. I want to scrap all the time! This past weekend I finished 1 layout and made 2 more - plus a frame for my friend Molly. Her birthday is on Friday - plus she's leaving town to do summer stock! I thought this would be a perfect gift! She LOVES the color pink. I'm really serious about that. LOL

The frame is just a wooden frame you can find at any craft store
The papers (Through MemoryWorks) - Scenic Route: Bird Theme Set (not sure if this is the name by Scenic Route themselves. I think it's part of the Laurel Collection.

So I got my tax return back - It ROCKS! I'm debating what i want to do with it. I SHOULD just save it all. Or use part to pay bills. I'll have to ponder this one.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mothers day to all those moms. I am of course not one. But my mom is!! And she is the BEST mom in the world (seriously)!! This blog is dedicated to my mommy!

Here is a picture of My Grandma, myself & My Mom - taken at Easter 2007
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
My mom was the person that got me into crafting. Every since I was a little girl she has been crafting and sewing. She used to make my brother & my clothes. She also made us Cabbage Patch type dolls and the 2 dolls, my brother & myself had matching outfits. I didn't like my green sweat outfit though - sorry mom. But I do appreciate her effort and thoughtfulness now. She also made lots of doll and bunny type things for craft shows. I think she is super talented. And now she is an AMAZING quilter. She makes BEAUTIFUL Quilts. I really admire her patience for quilting and the effort and love she puts into them.

So Mom - Happy Mother's Day. For all the inspiration, helping hands, friendship, support and most of all LOVE - You are truly are the greatest mom in the world.

Cody's School Album

I am a MemoryWorks Independent Consultant. I also subscribe to their awesome Monthly Kit. This month we got some papers from Scenic Route (this is becoming one of my favorite brands in scrapbooking!) The papers are very school year type - with bright bold colors such as red, yellow, green & blue.

My problem - I have no kids. They paper seems very kiddish to me. But I do have little cousins and in the this kit we got a 7 Gypsies 5 x 7 (approx) chipboard album. This was a super fun album. I decided to make a school album for my cousin Cody (well my Aunt rather). There is a page for each year in school (photos not included as of yet). K - Senior in HS. This way there is documentation of him growing up each year. I kept it very simple and not adding too many raised embellishments (because I didn't want the book to be TOO thick). So here it is!!

New beginnings

So, I decided to open a blog. Why, you may ask? Well I don't know. Maybe to document parts of my life. Including scrapbooking, photography, and other crafts. Or to share with others who I am - but why would you care if you don't know me. Or maybe for old friends to know what is going on with me.

I don't know what direction I will go with this blog - maybe every crazy direction imaginable. Or maybe just crafting. I'll figure it out eventually.

I do know this - i want to grow as a "photographer". I am not by ANY means a photographer now. So I will share my progress. I do hope to get a new camera - but with moving into a new apt at the end of this month (which means buying a WHOLE bunch of new stuff - including a Washer / Dryer, Grill, Dishes, Patio Furniture, Dresser, new desk, and little things like a shower curtain and storage containers) doesn't leave much $$ to buy a new camera. Sometimes I just have to wait.

Well - welcome to my journey!

PS - I'm not always the best speller and won't always use spell check :)
