Wedding Mini-album

Alright - here is the mini album I made Matt's brother & soon to be wife. I hope they don't read my blog. lol. It is a great little album because they don't have to find weird sized photos to put in it. And they don't HAVE to use it for wedding photos. Red & Black are just their wedding colors. Thanks for checking it out!

Much to come

Well last week was a slow blog week for me. Either nothing happened or I was really busy. This past weekend Matt & I went to his parents cabin to spend a relaxing day. We left sunday morning and spent the night coming home on Monday. Matt's dad's birthday was on sunday - so we had a great day celebrating it. I took lots of pictures! Which I will share soon.

Yesterday it was nice to just sit at home and do nothing. I scrapbooked. I made a small album (like my NYC album for my mom) for Matt's brother & his fiance. It will be their wedding gift. We didn't want to do anything big - b/c the cost to go to the wedding is enough. His brother is getting married in NYC. I'm not even able to attend - because I'm going on the scrapbook retreat 1 1/2 weeks before the wedding and I just couldn't afford another trip that soon. The album turned out very nice though. I'm sure they will appreciate it.

I love having a short week of work. It's already tuesday! And I only have 3 more days to work after today. I hope it goes quickly.

I recieved my order from MemoryWorks last week. I was so excited to get some new products and the catalog in print form! I played with some of the goodies yesterday while making the album. I bought some Jenni Bowlin papers for the album (the wedding colors are black and red).

Those papers. And the matching journaling cards in both red & black. I was surprised that just this one pack of paper completed an entire album. I even have a few scrap pieces left that I can use to make a card! And I have 1/2 my journaling cards left.

I also just got the BasicGrey - Flourish Corners Stamps

These are such great stamps to play with! The really add a beautiful decorated edge to a page or photo! I forsee me using these quite a bit! I'm excited to eventually add the journaling stamps & Flourish Edge stamps from BasicGrey!

Well I am done rambling - time to get to work. I will post photos and the album later tonight or sometime this week!

Gasper's School of Dance Recital

The recital for the dance studio was last night. It was such a long day. By the time it was done I was so exhausted I couldn't think anymore. We taped the performance. It was so good. Everyone in it did an awesome job. I was so proud. :D I danced in one number myself. I'm in hip hop class and the girls in the class convinced me to do the recital. It was fun and I hope I brought enough energy b/c i was so tired. Hopefully I can put a little bit of it up on my blog when we move it to a DVD. :D I will have to figure that out though.

Now I'm ready to go home and sleep. But I'm at work and that is not possible at this moment. I had a fun weekend though. Molly's birthday was yesterday and we celebrated it on Saturday evening. She is also moving to NYC in the next week or so and leaves this week. It was nice to spend time with her. I will definitely miss her!

I will get my May Calendar page completed and posted as soon as possible!

Mini Album

I made this mini-album for my mom. It is actually her birthday present (which was in March). And I thought I would fill it with pics from NYC (which i don't have enough - so some pics will be from future trips).

Another card for the Hero Arts blog! I bought these adorable house stamps last night (bad me - I shouldn't go shopping). But I made this card for this weeks challenge, which is "backgrounds".

I stamped the houses from the stamp set below. Each house had a different ink color (which was from the Colorbox - queue Chocolates & Blueberries stack.) I stamped the houses at different angles randomly on the card. Than I cut out some coordinating pattern paper and a piece of cardstock - where i stamped the bigger house, tree & saying to make that the focus of the card.

There you have it! It is a simple card project! Can I just say - i'm addicted to acrylic stamps!

If you haven't checked out the Hero Arts blog yet - head over there. They have awesome ideas for stamping projects, weekly challenges, prizes, and wonderful people who host the blog and participate in the challenges! There is a PRIZE awarded today for just replying to their blog - how easy is that?

Anyway. Today the sun is out and shining...and the next few days don't look too bad! The MemoryWorks retreat is a month away - I'm so excited. I haven't really thought about it lately...I've been so busy with other things. But now I've been thinking about it and I can't wait to meet everyone from Home Office, other consultants and scrapbookers!

change for spring

The black background was a little too dark for me - since I want it to be spring and i want it now! Luckily we have no snow - but it did snow this past Saturday (yuck). I just wish it would be warm and I didn't have to wear a coat anymore and I could wear tank tops & flip flops. I just feel like that day will never come. This winter has been so long. So I'm hoping my light, bright white blog will cheer me up!

Here is a card I made for the Hero Arts Blog contest last week.
Photobucket
The theme was "Pink" - and we made caring cards for people who have cancer and their families. So I love my card and was happy to send it for someone who needs some encouragement!

This weeks challenge is "backgrounds" - i'm not quite sure what I will do yet. I will figure it out. :D

How are the May Calendar pages coming along? Honestly I haven't started my own yet. But I will soon! And post. Lu - I still owe you a RAK from last month. So I will get that out soon.

If you haven't seen the brochure yet for Gasper's School of Dance 2008 - 2009 season - check it out in the previous post. I am so proud how it turned out (yes i'm going to brag - sorry). LOL

GSDPA 2008-2009 Brochure

So I've been working really hard on getting next years brochure completed for the dance studio. I spent around 11 hours yesterday and this is what I came up with. It goes to print today. The best thing about it - I won't have to worry about doing this for another year. It is the earliest we have had the brochure out at the studio. And we will have them out just in time for the Recital next weekend! I'm so excited (the recital program was another beast of a project).

So, here is the 2008 - 2009 Gasper's School of Dance Brochure!

I just adore the colors of these papers, very bright and cheery. I also love the designs!

We went out to dinner last night and she is just so much fun to talk to! She is also going to the MemoryWorks retreat - so I look forward to getting to know her more! I loved hearing about her family and what she does and talking about our passion - SCRAPBOOKING! So thanks Kris!! I'm glad you emailed me!
