Clique Kits Blog Share: Hazel & Ruby

You should have arrived here from Erica's blog!

Today we are so excited to be working with some awesome Hazel and Ruby products! I received some products for their Chalk it Up line as well as their Gone Typo line. Though the projects I will be sharing today were all completed with Chalk it Up! The creative bug hit and I created two layouts and three cards using these products!

The first layout is of my husband and I, pre-marriage. This picture was taken on our trip to the Twin Cities for our wedding week. I have a whole series of photos for each day (starting at 100) leading up to the wedding. I love how bright and cheerful these papers are. For the background I used Tim Holtz Distress stains, a Heidi Swapp stencil and embossing paste.

This second layout is a of a vacation that my husband and I took in January 2014. We got to spend 4 nights and 5 days at Secrets NOW resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! It was wonderful and a fantastic break from the cold and snow. I love the colorful frames paper. I decided to trim it almost in half and use the frames to highlight my photos as well as some journaling and title.

I also created some cards with these papers! I was really into the water color look when i was creating these first two cards. For the background I used water color paints to create a custom background.

The final card I created is a mini card (3" x 4"). I used Bubbles and Babbles Stickers to create this card. I popped a few up for dimension and stamped the word hello to the lower corner!

Thanks for stopping by today!! This was your LAST stop on the share! If you started here please head over to the Clique Kits blog for info and other blogs on the route.

OH, but WAIT we have a prize!! The prize for today's Blog Share is a $10 Gift Certificate to the Clique Kits Store!

I love the contrast and the white space in your first layout!! the watercolors really bring it all together nicely.. oh I love that you folded over some of the paper corners too :) I really like layouts 2's vertical arrangement and how you trimmed out the spaces for your photos.. or maybe trimmed the photos to fit in those frames LOL.. Either way Lacey, I love it all!

I love the energy in these layouts and you gave me some ideas I have to try- like using the paper 'frames' literally as frames (Homer Simpson:Ummm Dope!)You know I am a huge fan of anything watercolor right now- cool how you can use distress stains to get a similar effect. Good to know!Very creative and inspiring stuff here!
